At St Alban’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that music is a powerful form of expression that enriches the lives of our children and strengthens our school community.
Our curriculum is designed to ensure that all pupils develop their musical knowledge, skills and understanding progressively from the Early Years through to Year 6. Through singing, instrumental performance, composition and critical listening, children learn how music is created, performed and communicated while exploring a diverse range of musical styles, cultures, traditions and historical periods.
Music plays a central role in the life of our school. Children regularly participate in class performances, liturgies, celebrations and concerts, developing teamwork, self-expression and a sense of community. Through these experiences, pupils build resilience, self-discipline and confidence while discovering the importance of working together towards a shared goal.
We are committed to providing high-quality musical opportunities for all children. Specialist teaching, instrumental tuition and enrichment activities enable pupils to develop practical musicianship and performance skills. Our curriculum is inclusive and ambitious, ensuring that every child can access, enjoy and succeed in music.
