St Alban’s Catholic Primary School Forming confident children, grounded in humility, bound by respect.

  • Mission Statement

    Christ Be Our Light

Forming confident children, grounded in humility, bound by respect.

The school's philosophy revolves around the words of Christ and this commitment to the values of the Gospel is central to the life of the school in order that we are forming confident children, grounded in humility, bound by respect.

As a community, we value every member of our school, home and parish family. We work together in a caring, friendly and hardworking atmosphere, where everyone is encouraged to give their best, and we live out the Gospel values of Jesus by letting Christ Be Our Light.

Everyone at St. Alban's School, is unique and talented and these attributes are further nurtured and developed so that when the children move closer to adulthood, they have a firm foundation in true faith, in the joy of learning, and a stronger belief in themselves as an individual. At St. Alban's, we encourage children to celebrate their successes and achievements in all aspects of their lives, and we fully support them in their learning. We are a family who are open and honest, enjoy making and seeing progress, have fun learning, and strive to do our very best.

In Summer 2025, Ofsted, again, rated St Alban's as ‘Good’ with elements of 'Outstanding'.  Inspectors noted that:

"Pupils’ behaviour and attitudes are exceptional. They adhere to the school’s rules and expectations consistently."

"They are respectful and play well together. Older pupils show kindness towards younger pupils."

In our most recent RE inspection, Spring 2024, we were judged as “Outstanding”.  The staff and Governors are very proud of the pervasive Catholic ethos of our school and is identified by stakeholders as a strength.

“St Alban’s is a community built on strong faith where the light of Christ illuminates every aspect of school life”, Catholic School Inspection March 2024.
